New from the Batic winery: Batic Malvazija Selekcija

New in the range since 2020: the orange wine Malvazija Selektion from the Batic winery. 45 days of contact with the skins, careful maturation in barriques. The Malvazija grape is wonderfully suited for ageing as an ‘orange’. Its skin is very thin and has a relatively low tannin content. This way, the Malvazija Selection acquires the typical orange colour and aroma intensity while retaining its fresh fruitiness. Miha Batic himself does not describe the Malvazija as ‘macerated’, but as mouth-filling. We are happy to agree with that.

The aromas are characterised by typical notes of gooseberry, quince, a little smoke and citrus fruits. The texture is dense and buttery. In the mouth, however, it feels pleasantly light and soft. With a long finish. An excellent white wine like orange wine for special moments.
