Tokai Friulano, a premium white wine from the Brda

region. Tokaj Friulano (also known as Sauvignonsasse or grüner Sauvignon) is one of the oldest and most frequently grown varieties in the Goriška Brda region and also in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region across the border. In Goriška Brda, it is usually grown at medium and low altitudes, which gives the white wines a full-bodied structure and rich aromas. The intense minerality is characteristic of wines from this region.

The Tokata from Edi Simcic matures for about 10 months in French barriques.

It has a golden yellow colour. The nose is rich in aromas. Characterised by citrus notes, white peach, some wood and vanilla. On the palate, the minerality and power of the white wine come through. Here it shows us its full potential and the potential of the variety. The finish is long, with a hint of almond.
