Warm, soft, dense – an extraordinary Merlot

At the beginning of October, five percent of the Merlot grapes are harvested for the grapes' own natural yeast. The selection and harvesting of the Merlot grapes then takes place at the end of October. The grapes are macerated for thirty days. After that, the unfiltered grape must is poured into Slovenian oak barrels together with fine yeasts. There the wine develops its elegance in peace, without the intervention of humans. Miha Batic is keen to only intervene in the creation of the wines when nature demands it. His Demeter organic wines are absolutely unique.

In the glass, the red wine shows a deep ruby red colour. On the nose, we perceive an intense aroma of ripe, dark red fruits, ripe cherries and fine spices due to the maturation in wood. On the palate, raspberries, the scent of freshly baked plum cake with a gentle vanilla aroma and velvety tannins. An elegant, pure, dense and long-lasting wine. The aroma of the first taste remains and is reflected in pleasant scents.

The velvety texture of Batic red wines is famous. Here it comes into its own. We love this Merlot from Slovenia.
