The full potential of the Refosk grape
Awarded a gold medal at AWC Vienna and an impressive 91 points from Jeb Dunnuck.
The Refosk vines grow on the oldest vineyards of the Santomas winery. Hand-picked, table-selected grapes are fermented in open wooden fermenters for 2-3 weeks. As with the Antonius Cabernet Sauvignon, the aging takes place in new 350L French oak barrels for 24 months.
In the glass a deep ruby red with a violet touch. The oily texture is already visible here. Ripe aromas on the nose reminiscent of cherries, sour cherries and blueberries. Followed by spicy notes, complex with a Mediterranean touch. On the palate, the Santomas Antonius Refosk is full-bodied and wonderfully dry. Strong, with round, large tannins and well-balanced acidity.
One of the best Refosk wines in Slovenia. Masterful.
