Santomas Syrah 2019

Syrah for all the senses

Silver medal winner at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2022.

Like all wines from the Santomas winery, the Syrah grapes were harvested by hand. Fermentation takes about 2 weeks. After pressing and fermentation, the Syrah begins its 15-month maturation in used French oak barrels of 350L and 225L. The used barrels give the wine just the right tannin structure to create depth and balance.

Purple in the glass. On the nose, the Santomas Syrah is young, spicy and rounded off by the floral aromas familiar to the variety. Noticeable agility and freshness. The texture is oily and enveloping.

A red wine as we like it: young, full-bodied, with perfectly integrated tannins, low acidity and infinitely soft. A Syrah from Slovenia that delights all the senses.
