A powerful and full-bodied, yet mild Blaufränkisch

The Modra Frankinja (Blaufränkisch) from the Pleterje monastery in the Dolenjska region of Slovenia has an intense ruby red colour with bright red reflections. The Pleterje monastery produces red wine and rosé wine from this beautiful red grape variety.

The Blaufränkisch has a fresh, berry-like aroma and a full bouquet. Very stimulating. On the palate, we detect ripe, pleasantly sweet tannins and again berries, complemented by slightly peppery notes.

The finish is typically pleasant and dry for this variety. It is a fresh red wine bursting with power and fruit. With its relatively low alcohol content, it is ideal as a snack wine and as a wine for barbecues on warmer days.
