Dveri-Pax Benedict Red 2013 (Admont Abbey)

Wonderful, well-aged red wine from Slovenia

This hand-harvested red wine cuvée, aged for 18 months in Slovenian and French barriques, is excellent in terms of price-performance ratio. It is given a long ageing period and is already well developed when it comes onto the market. Currently the 2013 vintage!

It has a deep ruby red colour. It has a pronounced, spicy, intense bouquet. Black pepper and fruity berry notes of raspberry, blackberry and strawberry come to the fore. It is dry on the palate, with pleasant tannins that are never too dominant but always present. The combination of the long maturation period in oak barrels and the blend of Blaufränkisch, Pinot Noir and Zweigelt grapes preserves the red wine's youth while still allowing it to develop.

It is a classic example of elegant red wines from a temperate to cooler climate zone.
