Ripe fruit, powerful, fresh
Primoz Lavrencic’s Burja Bela white wine cuvée, in the orange wine style, is a wonderful blend of Rebula, Malvasia and Welschriesling. Characterised by the fresh acidity and aromatic intensity of the Rebula. Refined by the floral and spicy notes of the Malvasia. Rounded off with the complex and ripe fruit of the Welschriesling.
The grapes come from two vineyards aged 20 and 60 years, and are harvested exclusively by hand. After at least 10 months in large oak barrels and concrete tanks, the Burja Bela is bottled. Primoz Lavrencic uses only the finest grapes from both vineyards for this cuvée. The result is excellent quality with a low yield. The Burja Winery is one of the pioneers in Slovenia when it comes to using concrete eggs for ageing. Combined with barrique barrels, they lend the wine a unique and incomparable character.
Like all wines from the Burja Winery, the Bela is also biodynamically produced, unfiltered and made using spontaneous fermentation.
The texture of the Burja Bela is uniquely oily. It coats the entire palate and gives the wine a long finish. Aromas of citrus, apricots and fruit compote. Light notes of vanilla and herbs. Very pleasant tannins.
The Burja Bela is an excellent orange wine from Slovenia. See for yourself!
