The family-run Castelfeder winery in South Tyrol is known for its excellent wines made from regional South Tyrolean grape varieties such as Lagrein. The Lagrein grape loves warm, sunny locations, such as those found in the area between Bolzano and Egna, where the Rieder vineyard of the Castelfeder winery is located.

The Lagrein Rieder is aged in steel tanks for six months. This brings out the best of this South Tyrolean grape variety. It has a bright ruby red colour in the glass. On the nose, it has fruity notes of wild berries, compote and floral notes of violets. On the palate, it is beautifully velvety, soft, with a pleasant tannin structure and the typical crisp acidity.
