The Mea Sipon Pet-Nat is Matic’s signature sparkling wine – a true love story. He decided to name the Pet-Nat ‘Mea’, which means ‘my’ in Latin, as this was the first sparkling wine he produced commercially.

Pét-Nat is an abbreviation of the French term pétillant-naturel. The term is used for natural sparkling wines produced using the “méthode ancestrale”. This means the sparkling wine is bottled before the first fermentation is complete. The quality of the sparkling wine is then derived from the naturally produced carbon dioxide formed from the sugars contained in the grapes.

Every bottle of Mea Pet-Nat from Slovenia is vinified and bottled individually, meaning no two are exactly alike. Please feel free to gently roll or swirl the bottle before opening to enjoy the authentic, unfiltered Pet-Nat experience. The nose reveals intense notes of lime and green apple. On the palate, it is fresh with a light acidity, green apple aromas and subtle bread notes – typical of very good sparkling wines.
