Full of character, unique – moon-influenced
The white Pinela grape variety originates from the border area between Slovenia and Italy near Nova Gorica (Gorizia). It was mentioned as early as 1324 in the ‘Catalogue of Grape Varieties of the Veneto Region’.
Fermentation takes place spontaneously with natural yeasts from the vineyard and at an uncontrolled temperature. Miha Batic trusts nature, trusts the wine and has the sensitivity and experience necessary for this natural process. The spontaneous fermentation is followed by two years of maturation in barrique barrels made of Slovenian oak. Bottling takes place when there is a new moon.
It has a delicate aroma of ripe fruit (peach, apricot), a subtle hint of vanilla and sun-drenched grapes. It will warm your heart. The taste is soft, spicy, mineral, unique and with a wonderful hint of resin. Pinela perfectly reflects the terroir and winemaking skills of the Batic family.
It has a strong character, which is why it also goes very well with dishes that would normally be accompanied by a red wine.
