The champion

The Capris Merlot from the Vinakoper winery is aged in large oak casks and barrique barrels for 24 months. This gives it a very unique red wine note.

In the glass, we see its ruby red colour with brick red hues at the edge. After two years in large oak barrels, it has gained its full body, softness and richness. Its intense bouquet is reminiscent of ripe wild berries, blackcurrants, liquorice, plum jam, sour cherry liqueur, forest undergrowth and leather, as well as notes of ripe precious woods. Quite captivating.

On the palate, the fruity aroma of ripe cherries harmonises wonderfully with the minerality and ripe sweet tannins. The good, long finish with a pleasant hint of wood gives the wine its noble touch.

An intense red wine with great potential from Slovenian Istria at a great price.
