Monchiero Carbone Barolo DOCG
It is not uncommon for Barolo to be referred to as the ‘king of wines’, and not without reason. The creation of this famous Italian red wine is a traditional process that takes a long time and has been passed down from generation to generation without compromise.
Low yields through rigorous pruning and thinning out in the vineyard allow the remaining vines to reach their full potential. Slow fermentation and long maceration on the skins create an exceptional red wine. This is followed by at least 18 months of maturation in barriques and a further year in the bottle.
In the glass, an intense ruby red to garnet red. On the nose, it reveals its full aromatic structure - round, powerful, spicy, berry notes, forest fruits, floral notes and herbs combined with fine chocolate notes. In the mouth, a magnificent fullness, elegant, wonderfully structured, engaging with a long finish.
A magnificent red wine, uncompromising. A real treat.
