Dveri-Pax Chardonnay Vajgen 2020 (Admont Abbey)

This Chardonnay delights the senses

The Chardonnay vines grow in one of the best locations of Dveri-Pax, the Vajgen vineyard. After hand-picking and fermentation on the fine yeast, it matures for 18 months in used 3500 litre wooden barrels made of Slavonian wood. This is how a very special Chardonnay is created.

This white wine exudes a silky texture and an intense colour as soon as you swirl it in your glass. Its bouquet, consisting of aromas of fresh apples, pears and lemons, white flowers, slightly smoky wood and spicy cloves, is a real delight. There is so much to discover. Each approach brings out new aromas. On the palate, it is smooth and creamy, then reveals its intense, almost uncompromising character and delights us with its elegant opulence. It is never too strong, but characterised by freshness and complex minerality, which create a very balanced overall picture.
