Batic Rebula 2022

An extraordinary Rebula / Ribolla Gialla from the Vipava Valley

The Rebula vines grew on marl soils in the Vogrsko and Brajda sites in the Slovenian Vipava Valley. Miha Batic plants the Rebula vines extremely densely, with 12,000 vines per hectare. Each vine bears only 0.5 kg of grapes! The yield is therefore only 35 to 40 hectolitres per hectare. Only the best grapes are used to make this extraordinary white wine, which is on the borderline of orange wine.

We immediately recognise various ripe fruits in the aroma, like in a beautiful compote. There are also vanilla and butter notes, accompanied by a pleasant minerality. The creaminess of this Rebula on the palate and the long, lingering finish are wonderful to philosophise about. Try it for yourself and you'll know what we mean. A wonderfully harmonious and complex Rebula that gives connoisseurs plenty to savour. Bravo, Miha Batic!
