Cotar Vitovska 2020 organic wine

Vitovska from the Karst region - a unique grape variety from Slovenia

This very rare grape variety is only grown here, in the Slovenian Karst on both sides of the border. The terrain of the karst area is unique. Rusty red earth riddled with iron and lime. The vines only produce around 600g of highly concentrated, strong grapes, which are used to create Cotar Vitovska.

The Vina Cotar Vitovska is developed as an orange or natural wine. This means that it matured on the lees until it was bottled and was also bottled unfiltered directly from the barrel. Maturation took place over 3 years in large wooden barrels.

A straw yellow color in the glass, the scent is fine, fresh and fruity (plums, cherries, Williams pears and sage). The taste of the orange wine from Slovenia is soft and fresh. Not too heavy and with good acidity. Light residues of the fine yeast make it particularly delicious.
