Edi Simcic Duet Lex 2019

Red wine cuvée made from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc

Bordeaux meets Slovenia. After careful selection and harvesting by hand, the grapes for Edi Simcic's Duet Lex red wine cuvée go into a 14-day maceration and mature for 36-42 months in oak barriques. Duet Lex reflects the soil and the Goriska Brda region in a fascinating way. It has a unique minerality and elegance. 80% Merlot and 10% each Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc combine to create something great.

The first thing we immediately see is the captivating ruby red of the red wine in the glass. On the nose it is complex. Fruity cherry aromas, cassis and plums emerge. Framed by spicy cedar wood, thyme, laurel and mocha. This play of aromas and the pleasant feeling on the palate make it an excellent red wine. It is demanding and engaging, but never too voluminous or powerful. The long finish is the icing on the cake of this red wine from Slovenia. Unbelievable good!
