Tuscany

In the picturesque hills between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Apennines lies one of the most famous and probably oldest wine-growing regions in the world, Tuscany. Poets such as Goethe immortalised it in their works, and it is loved by connoisseurs as well as culture and history enthusiasts. Red wines are the focus in Tuscany, especially the Sangiovese grape variety. It is not only used to make Vino Nobile and Brunello di Montalcino, but also the popular Chianti. The ‘Super Tuscans’ of the Tuscan coastal region are mostly made from the international red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
