Lombardy
With approximately 27,000 hectares of vineyards, Lombardy is one of Italy's smaller wine regions. The vineyards in this picturesque Italian region are clustered around the three large lakes: Lake Como, Lake Iseo and Lake Garda. Today, Lombardy is particularly well known as the centre of Italian sparkling wine and for the popular Lugana DOC, which is grown in both Lombardy and Veneto. The Ca dei Frati and Monte Cicogna wineries in the south of Lake Garda also offer excellent rosé wines and red wines from the region.
