Teran - a very special red wine from the Karst region

The Karst Teran from the Vina Cotar winery is a unique red wine specialty from Slovenia. PTP on the label means Priznano Tradicionalno Poimenovanje, in German: Recognized traditional name. With PTP, the geographical origin, the name and the traditional cultivation of Kras Teran are legally protected and guaranteed, as we also know from Cvicek.

Like all natural wines from the Cotar winery, Teran is fermented in open vats directly on the mash and then spontaneously without the addition of pure yeasts. The maturation of 4 years takes place in large 1500L wooden barrels before the red wine is bottled unfiltered. No sulfur is added during the entire process.

The aroma of the Cotar Teran shows beautiful notes of red fruits, cherries, blackberries and blueberries. In the mouth it is fresh, linear, of great balance and is characterized by an unmistakable acidity. A taste experience that stays in your memory and can only be found in the Slovenian Karst.
