A unique Sauvignon - a broadening of horizons
Sauvignon from Slovenian wine-growing regions often develop a strong bouquet with clear notes of paprika, hay and elderflower. The Sauvignon from the Movia winery, in the style of orange wine, shows an intense golden colour. The nose is rather discreet for a Sauvignon Blanc but beautifully floral, complex and ripe. This one is more of a cool guy who takes it easy, waits a bit and doesn't show everything right away. It is dry with hints of sweetness, with ripe and lively acids and an oily texture. The character on the palate is persistent, varied and offers honey, soft oak and floral notes.
The Movia winery lives up to its name here and, contrary to all trends, does not produce a mainstream Sauvignon Blanc, but one that opens up new horizons for this international variety. After the late harvest of the vines, the wine first ferments on its own yeasts in large tanks before aging in French barrique barrels for 18 months.
The orange wine is perfect to enjoy now, but also has a high storage potential of at least 10 years.
