A tribute to carelessness and youth - red wine Merlot
Only grapes from young vines that are still growing are used for the Turno line. These wines take advantage of the youthful vitality, the playfulness and freshness of the vines and reflect this in the resulting wine. The journey of the Turno Merlot begins with a late manual harvest and rapid transfer within 2 hours to the fermentation process. 3-4 weeks of maceration follow, which concludes with the natural clarification of the wine by settling the grape skins in the tank. The process is done with the wine's own yeasts. The Merlot matures for 18 months in classic oak barriques until it has developed its full potential. The wine is only briefly sulphurised for the first and last time during bottling. It is bottled unfiltered as is usual with natural wines.
In color it shows a deep ruby red with persistent shades. The bouquet is accentuated, engaging, with typical notes of black cherries, red fruits and mocha notes. Supplemented by vanilla, cassis and a spicy fine note of cinnamon. On the palate it is dry, medium-bodied, wild with noticeable tannins and a long finish. The mouthfeel is nice and velvety and rounds off the overall experience wonderfully.
